"Regeane slept in Lucilla's big bed. Lucilla, beside her, passed into
unconsciousness as soon as her head touched the pillow. Regeane,
however, remained wakeful for one brief, beautiful moment. The wolf
visited her.
She and the others of her kind were walking down along a narrow beach
below high cliffs. The stone was a deep bloody black, stained faintly
purple in places, broken along prismatic lines into three-cornered
angles like building blocks. The sandy strand was brown stained by long
darker steaks from the mineral-rich stone. The sky above was a wrack of
torn storm clouds, dark gray where they floated on the air, reaching
higher and higher until they became crystal and white thunderheads,
drifting between broken streaks of blue sky. Out to sea, mists floated
like smoke on the water.
The waves were quiet, rolling gray far out, becoming blue swells as they
approached shore and, at last, deep green combers arching and slapping
into lacy foam at the wolves' feet.
Here and there, they had to swerve to avoid big piles of bone-white and
silver driftwood. At length, they came to a headland stretching far out
into the water.
Air blowing from the ocean was clear and cold, containing in each breath
the essence of eternity. Long shafts of light began to break through the
mist. And the wolves stood as one watching the sun rising in
splendor...above the rim of the world." - Alice Borchardt

The Beach Somewhere in the outermost stretches of the wild valley lies a lost beach. Moss grows on the large boulders bordering the white sands and silver driftwood. The water rolls cool and clean and waves crash freely against the shore. Farther down the beach is a small overhang where one may watch the sea from above, and below a cove of secrets. Step carefully, for the glistening rock within will spell a slippery death for any who may not cross warily.

The Realm of the Winged Ones
The Looking Glass This is the border between the physical world and the world of Azmith and her ghost wolves. From the outside it looks like water, suspended vertically, shimmering with magic light in a disk of beauty. If one looks hard enough, they can see the winged through the water in another world, but do not cross the beautiful threshold for only winged ones may enter here. The living come here for solace or to meet with their deceased loved ones, the dead may come and go freely through this porthole and yet, must always return.

The Path of Wind and Mist The first sight to meet one's eyes upon entering this world is a vast stretch of violet ocean, and jutting from its waves are tall spires of white rock shining like prisms in ethereal light. A mist winds its way through these endless rocks. Crossing this place is impossible without wings, and no living may tread here.

Ethereal Garden Beyond the path of Wind and Mist lay the most beautiful gardens. However this place is a bit sad in its beauty, for the life of an earthly garden does not exist here. Filled with white flowers and trees, it all may as well be made of glass. It's quiet here, unnatural. A few members of the winged world have met their final rest here. They are now clear glass statues forever frozen in their last moment. Some rear, wings spread in play, other lay as if asleep, glistening in beautiful, peaceful, sleep eternal.

The Halls of Azmith Dressed in the glory ancient Rome, this temple shines a bright white color against the deep violet skies. Within the white stone is trimmed with gold and silver, large fires burn on either side of the entrance and there, at the top of Ivory stairs inside the temple is the Goddess herself. You may come here to ask that a living loved one be granted the wings to enter this world, or beg to be returned to your mortal life, or to be granted leave of all life and join the glass statues in the garden as one of them in eternal sleep.
